Åke Thulstrup var fil.dr., skriftställare, historiker och litteraturkritiker. I sin omfattande produktion behandlade han bl.a. det sena 1930-talets internationella politik, italiensk och svensk utrikespolitik inför och under andra världskriget m.m. Thulstrup kritiserade tidigt den svenska flyktingpolitiken och uppmärksammade nazisternas folkmordspolitik.
